Hi,
I'm looking for a new multifunction printer to replace my dead Canon C530
that just quit on me. There were things about that printer that I really
hated, ink cartridges TOO SMALL was the biggest problem. I want it mostly
for printing B/W text mostly, but I do print out color photos from my
digital cameras quite often. I'm looking at the Lexmark X6170 as a choice.
I would appreciate any advise you might have regarding recommendations for
a good multifunction printer, Lexmark X6170, or any Lexmark comments good,
or bad.

Thanks,
Snydley

Lexmark SUCKS. So does Epson. Hewlette Packard
Is good and reliable, my mother has a nice one which
works well. It will scan and print photos, though it's
best to use a Graphics editor to scan into, fix it up,
then print from there as well. Hers is the 2110 all-in-
one, costs $150.00, very solid. http://www.hp.com/
There is also Canon but I know nothing about their stuff.
And my HP 7150 photosmart printer makes very nice
Photos using 65 year archival inks.

It just 'cause I'm ****ed at these companies making
JUNK for the general public, just for a lousy BUCK!

Sorry, Alex

Thanks for the advice. I purchased a Canon MP730 multifunction printer
today. It has separate tanks for the colors , and the biggest "beef" I had
with the Canon Multipass C530 was that the colors were all in 1 tank and it
always seemed like it was running out of ink when I really needed to print
from it. It seems that from all of the investigating I did that Canon had
one of the best, if not the best color quality.

Hi,
can you tell me if the Canon MP730 is able to print front-&-reverse
side of the pages automatically (obvisousely without manually turning
the pages) ? If not, is there any multifuction printer doing that ?
From my investigation, i was assuming that this feature was more standard
than what it actually is... well, i was wrong.

Thanks for any info on this,
Afx

The HP Officejet 6110, PSC 2410, PSC 2510, Officejet 7100 series and Officejet
D series have an automatic duplexer either as an option or a standard feature.
There are also various LaserJet based all-in-one units that support duplexing.
See the following for a link to the spec's:
