neither the Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 926 or the 944 will install on my
Dell XPS laptop with XP Media Center OS-I get an error message that the
AIOC.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close, and sometimes that the
Class Manager will not allow the installation??? The device manager has the
yellow exclamation mark on the printer logo. Dell wants me to re-install XP,
but this appears to be a "known issue" with compatability??? I need to know
if this is XP, the Dell driver or what??? I have already checked and
Microsoft does not have any Dell drivers in its downloads-Thanks, Kathryn

Dell are responsible for the drivers for their printers.

I understand that Dell is responsible for their drivers, but Dell claims it
is not their driver, but a glitch in the software on my computer-which would
be fixed if I reinstalled XP. That would be highly inconvenient, and seems
unlikely to result in a successful resolution of the problem since these
install problems seem to be, as I said, a "known issue." My question is
whether this is a driver or an operating system problem, and who or what runs
or wrote AIOC.exe???

Seems to be associated with Dell printers only. It's possible that Dell
obtained the driver from a third party.
