I have used Epson and Canon inkjet printers for the last 8 years and
really liked them both.
I started with an Epson Stylus 740. Epson had (has?) a problem with
nozzle plugging. Alas! When I decided to upgrade my ailing Epson, I
discovered that they started "Chipping" the cartridges in later models
of their their printers making it a real PIA to refill them and generic
cartridges were not generally available.
So I switched to a Canon Pixma ip3000 printer. It was a jewel.
Fast, high resolution, 2 picoliter droplets, Sharp, Clear prints etc.
But Alas! Alas! Canon too, on their recent printers, developed
techniques to thwart generic ink cartridge makers.
H-P Cartridges have always been very expensive to replace.
I am now looking at a Brother DCP-385C.
Going strictly by the Specs, it looks like a winner......AND.....
generic ink cartridges are available.:-)
I've never used a Brother printer and don't know anyone who has.
Has anyone in this NG used this particular Model or one that uses the
same print engine?
Any comments Pro or Con will be helpful........TIA.
