cannot print from IE

Running Win Me w/ IE 6.0.2800.1106 w/ the following
updates to it: SP1; Q832894

1) unable to print from IE -- other printing tasks go
fine. error message received is "Line 228 - Char 1 -
incompatible version of RPC stub" code is 0 - URL:
res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/preview.dlg

Can anyone assist in solving this


2) my computer will also not open to Windows update page.
Info i read on Microsoft update site indicates I should be
able to get a win update on Win me -- but I can never
access it. Why ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
