Okay...
Your post didn't say anything about what you did and the result.
Had you said you googled (and for what expression) then maybe "do a google"
wouldn't have been the answer.

I went to the canonusa site and went to support... and filed in the drop
down boxes and go to here:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...nloadDetailAct
It has a user manual selection.
Is that what you wanted?

By golly I think what I want (manual) is there. I have downloaded it
and am now reading it. It looks like this printer's cartridges are
quite complicated and vary according to one's needs. I want to be
careful. The printer right now has a black cartridge - I would want
color at least.

I thank you for the web address. I went to Canon's site, but never
found what you found. I guess that's why they pay you the big bucks?
