Help with Dell A920 All In One Printer

I received the Dell AI0 Printer "free" when purchasing my XP computer.
When I print, a dialog box appears showing the percentage of printing
that's completed. Initially, the percentage continued through to
100%, printing was finished, and that was that. For awhile now,
however, the percentage is stuck at 99% completed, which means a] the
document, though in hand & for all intents "complete," is somehow
not recognized as such by the printer program and, most impractical
& annoying, b] I have to basically cancel printing, shut down the
computer and open everything up again to continue printing other
documents. (When I try to cancel the supposedly 99% completed
document via alt+control+delete, it won't delete; "killing" the
printing process by the same method doesn't seem to work, either. I
get an error message saying the printing program isn't responding
when I attempt to shut down/restart.)

Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, might it be
solved by removing and then reinstalling the printer driver? Is there
an upgraded driver for the A920 I might download? I'm wary of messing
around with the computer (it's been a nice respite this last while!),
but the situation is ridiculous.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Mark

Remove the printer and driver. Follow the installation procedure as
detailed in your documentation from Dell to reinstall the printer and
driver(s).

Sorry to be dense, but when you write, "remove the printer," what do
you mean, detach the USB cable?

No problem. Yes, disconnect the printer from the computer and uninstall all
the printer software. Reboot your PC. Be sure to then follow the
instructions for installation of the printer. Do not connect the printer
until directed by the installation routine or the setup instructions.
