HP 1000 power issue

Hi every one I have a HP 1000 laser jet, it was fine but now it powers up turning all necessray parts then cuts out! just hear some kind of electrical click and it powers off, everything starts up and rolls for about 5 seconds then nothing, this is a great work horse and i would love to keepit on the move
Any help would be gratefully accepted
