Using MS Word, I am trying to make the Kyocera printer FS 690 print
the back of a postcard.
I does not matter how I handle Word and Kyocera settings of paper
size. I put an A4 in just to see what happens and the A4 is printed in
the top left corner in landscape mode as required, just about the
correct size, but when you place a card in the printer, the left side
of the card comes out with a miserable 2 to 3 last characters of the
last 12-14 lines, in the extreme left of the card, leaving the card
nearly blank.

If I increase the margins top and left to bring the printing to the
card, the print get chewed up and only half of each line is printed
and the rest of the line is on the second line and so on.
I get to think that Kyocera is the most useless printer you can
possibly get - unless I am extremely stupid

Hi
With this type of printer it isnt really possible to handle postcards: what you
really need is a printer with a straight paper path. Such a printer as eg the
brother 660 hl which you feed the printer in at the back top and it comes out
at the bottom front might do it.

Yet I took the cards to a friend who has what I think is a samsung or
some name like that, laser printer, just like the Kyocera. The
difference is that the friends printer has some decent software which
is not the case with the Kyocera. The Kyocera pretend that is work
fine and there was an update on the drivers that I picked up in
November of this year. The book even says that the printer 'does not
print some envelopes well' and that is a quote straigth from the book.

I tried to make it print envelopes for the Christmas cards but the
software will have it that I write those envelopes using just a pen.
So straight up Kyocera FS-680 KX is crap and they even own up to that
in the installation handbook - pity you don't see that before you buy.

Windows Word will let you know that you have the right data, yet the
printer will not put a single mark on the envelope.
True to the venom I feel for them, I wrote and told them of the
troubles but do not expect and answer.
