LIDE oder CCD-Scanner

Hi,

what is better, a Scanner with LiDE-technic (LED indirect exposure) oder
a scanner with a ccd-Technic? Or better: What are the advantages and
disadvantages of both methods?

LIDE scanner:
1. thin (see Canon LiDE60)
2. if you scan a thick book: cannot clearly capture the page around the
bended area near the binder part of a book (they capture the image, but the
characters are unreadable)

CCD scanner:
1. thicker (see other Canon/Epson scanners)
2. can can clearly the page even around the bended area.
