Hello,

My company recently purchased a mac with OSX (10.3.8). Unfortunately,
none of our staff have been train adequately in Mac printing. We need
to be pointed in the right direction to get the mac hooked up to a
Ricoh 1232c printer. Currently the Ricoh 1232C printer queue is set up
on a WIN2000 domain controller. We have tried to print over tcp/ip
unsuccessfully. When we send a print job to the Ricoh we get a bunch
of blank pages with this being printed on the first page
"%!PS-Adobe-3.0 %RBINumCopies:1 ..." Any links or help would be greatly
appreciated.

You did install the PPD for this printer didn't you?

At my workplace we have two *identical* (hardware wise) Ricohs (1018D)
on the network and all OS X Macs were able to print just fine to one of
these (using the appropriate PPD). Until a new Mac was installed in the
vicinity of the other Ricoh and I wanted it to print to the other
Ricoh. But no luck, the symptoms were exactly as you describe. There
were no problems getting it to print to the Ricoh that was already
serving the existing Macs. The only difference between the two Ricohs
is the firmware (the unwilling Ricoh having an older version) so now we
are getting a Ricoh tech in to update the firmware. Hopefully that will
solve it.

Hans

We're trying to configure a Ricoh 1018D to print with OS X. The
driver on the Ricoh site didn't load properly.

Where did you get your PPD from?

Steve
I got it from the Ricoh support site but I seem to remember that there
was a problem with the Ricoh installer, i.e. the PPD wasn't installed
properly. I will email you the PPD tomorrow when I'm back at work, with
instructions where to put it.
