Printer cannot be installed

Help! We had to do an F Disk cleanup; now we cannot get
the Lexmark x63 printer to install at all! If we do the
install routine, it appears to be "there", but when we try
to print, the printer cannot be found.

We also cannot get .pdf files to download - don't know if
the problems are related.

We have had difficulty with printers since we bought this
computer - usually the "printer not found" messages.

I am very grateful for any help you can give me.
