I have a Brother HL1850 printer - and used Brother drums which have been
refurbished by Cartridge World. They have both now got to a point where
they report 'clean fuser wire' about every other time I use them. The
usage is fairly light these days but I value the duplex feature.

It's time for a new drum. A few years ago I bought a cheap one - Xenia
make and after I'd replaced it; just threw it away because both original
and replacement produced shadow images.

So can anyone please recommend from experience a compatible NEW[1] drum
available in the UK - I've seen prices from £20 to the cheapest genuine
Brother price of around £85.

[1] If it works OK, I'll get it refurbed when its time is up.

Thanks

Mike

Just wondering, is it possible there is a wire that requires cleaning,
rather than a new drum required?

Some older laser printers and photocopiers have high voltage wires which
do pick up toner and require cleaning with a special brush, usually
provided.
