I hope I can get some help here since HP's Forum is totally USELESS USELESS.

I have been using this great compact printer for a few years never had any problem. I had it unplugged for about 4 days. Then plugged back and now it just doesn't print. I have checked updates and I have V 4 (driver). The original CD is no longer compatible (at least that's the message that I got when I used it).

I even went to HP's website and downloaded the driver.
I select a document to print and these are some of the messages I get:

1- It shows a small window showing that is ready to print. A blue bar moves from left to write. Then an error message on top shows "Filter failed"
2- Tray needs to be full. The tray is full, and also tried half full.
3- Unable to send data file to printer
4- Cartridge unable to move. Not true I was able to move it without any obstacles.

What I have done:
Unplugged both AC and USB, waited 60 seconds.
Changed USB cord
Opened back door - no paper jam of any kind nor getting any message saying so
Press down Cancel and Color bottoms and released at the same time.

I don't want to buy another driver nor ready to upgrade to 10.9. Imagine what would happen to the rest of my other devices. Please send me some suggestions thanks
