I installed the above printer and set it up wireless. It prints fine but when I click on printer status to check the ink levels it says it is unable to detect a printer. It sets right next to my PC and prints fine from my PC so the signal is good. I contacted Canon and they said to update the drivers. I followed their directions but it didn't make any difference.

How can I fix this?:

What happens if you connect with a USB cable?

Since it is sitting right next to you desktop, why not use a USB cable rather than wireless?
