Hiya! I have an odd problem here. Canon Pixma IP4500 Printer worked well enough, except for colors leaking to which I attribute to a knock-off print head that leaks and seeps (so I'd have to initiate cleaning to get it to print true colors) up until a few days ago when it just stopped altogether printing anything. It would make all the noises and motions like it were printing, but nothing came on the paper. Step 1: Cleaned print head in warm water then isoprop alc. no change. Step 2: opened 'er up and cleaned everything. Cleaned the purge pads, cleared the clogs in the purge lines, cleaned waste tank pads, cleaned rollers, cleaned everything I could reach with windex, paper towels, and qtips. (note: windex not used on printhead) Put her all back together, started up, printed test page, and Holy Smokes! She printed! Did printhead alignment, and then heartbreak sat in, nothing printed. Cleaned and did test print, came out faded and lined, but printed. Did again but she won't print anything else. No amount of cleaning or deep cleaning will get her to print again. I really like this printer and can't afford to replace her (still retails for 350!) What advice do the gurus here have? I am all ears and not afraid to get back under the hood.
