2170 all-in-one not printing black

Hi All,

I have an HP psc 2179 all-in-one and it has just started not printing black. Prints from colour cartridge only. Replaced black cartridge as the old one was very low. Doesn't print from old or new cartridge. Have done the realignment and cleaning process but still no joy.

Any suggestions at what I need to do would be very much appreciated.

PS : Yes the tape has been removed from the cartridge !

It may very well be possible that your printer's driver software detected that your printer's black ink was low and so purposefully stopped using it, and depending on your printing's settings you may have to re enable it... other then that I think it would be best to ring HP and just ask them stating the product name and outline the problem.
