I have a 8500a Plus model of printer and had a cracked cog in it. I have managed to replace the cog with one I printed on a 3D printer but I am still receiving the error 'paper jam'. I also managed to get an older 8500 and took the original cog from this one and still the printer was giving me the same error.
I am not sure if a sensor is faulty or the cog isn't seated correctly, but from all accounts I don't have to put it into any position before reconnecting everything and switching on. Or do I?
