Brother HL-L6250DN prints unusually slowly with larger files (eg. 20 MB)

Hi folks,

I’ve bought a new Brother HL-L6250DN, which I’m quite happy with in principle. But what surprises me: When I print larger PDF files of e.g. 20 MB, it takes almost a quarter of an hour for the printer to start printing, because the data is only sent to the printer very slowly, even though the memory has 256 MB.

I print via the USB port, use the BR-Script3 driver (1.7.0), the printer has the latest firmware (1.82), my operating system is Windows 10 Pro.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Greetings,
Ransom

Because it is not possible here to change a post afterwards – maybe a picture of the status of the transfer will help to understand what I mean:

It takes exactly 22 seconds for another 0.25 MB to be transferred (just measured), which is why it takes even close to half an hour before the actual printing starts. (The value given yesterday “almost a quarter of an hour” was only an estimate, as I had left the room where the printing took place).

My previous printer (HP Laserjet 2420 d) took much less time (not even five minutes) to print even though it only had 64 MB RAM.
