I bought my L2530DW second hand complete with a TN-2420 cartridge and it's 'just worked' since even though it might go for weeks without use.

The other day it started with the No Toner message. After a bit of research I replaced the battery (LR521). The installed one was well down in voltage so I was confident changing it would work. The chip board clips in, it's not glued.

Mistake no1. I forgot to take note of which way the chip board goes in but I think it only goes one way.
Mistake no2. I forgot to take note of which way up the battery goes but again I think it has to be small contact (which is negative) onto the chip board.

Finally I put it all together but still got the No Toner.

I tried doing Replace Toner in General Settings and a Factory Reset but still no joy.

The cartridge still has toner in it so it would be kind of nice to finish it.

Any suggestions how to make it work? Or do I just bite the bullet and buy a new one?
