Hello,
I have just acquired the Brother MFC-J4550DW printer and most things are working fine. There is one problem: receiving fax messages does not work. The device is connected to the Fon2 of the FritzBox 7590 router. I have sent faxes and that works fine.
When searching for a solution I was in many cases referred to the Brother Utilities software, but the problem is that I cannot find these anywhere. I suppose they have been replaced by a software called iPrint&Scan, which does not seem to offer any options for the fax settings. I also found that I need to activate the PC Fax on my computer, which I believe I have done (PX-Fax v.3.2, version 1.04.02)
Sending faxes is of course just a minor thing these days, but I occasionally need to be able to send and receive fax messages. The sending part seems to work and I hope that someone here can tell me how to make receiving faxes work as well.
