Brother printer keeps not starting unless I unplug for 30 seconds

My MFCL8690CDWregularly refuses to start the past week. The only thing that works is unplugging it and waiting long enough before plugging it back in (10 seconds isn't enough; 30 seconds is more like it). This has happened three times in the past week.
The firmware is up to date.
Is there anything we can do about this, or do you know what the cause is? Could it be another device in our house causing this problem, or is it likely the printer's own power supply?
