Brother status monitor

I have a HL-3170CDW printer. I can't display the status monitor either from the shortcut on the desktop or from the start menu. The printer is turned on and ready is showing on the LCD. I just recently used the printer and installed the firmware up date. This problem existed before the firmware update. Hoping someone can help.

Just now printed a test page with no problems.
