Canon MF267DWII randomly shuts down

I have a 3 year old Canon MF267DWII printer connected to my windows 10 64bit desktop PC via USB. About 3 months ago it started randomly powering off. No warning, no messages, just bam -hard shutdown. Sometimes it will power on and be okay, then other times it will power on and then hard shutdown right away. I tried unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for a couple minutes to see if that would help, but the problem persists. Sometimes it will go a couple weeks with out doing it and sometimes it will happen several times in the same day. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions on what is wrong and how to fix it.
