Hi,

MP160 printer working but computer will not recognise scanner function of MP160 printer. Has been previously working until recent driver updater software installed.

Have manually reinstalled Canon MP160 driver software, printer is working but scanner not recognised.

Win 10 OS and usb connection to printer.

Canon diagnose and repair tool says all working fine.

Windows fax and scan software says no scanner detected. This was the software I have always used to scan documents.

This is the correct driver that I have been using for years.

Canon PIXMA MP160 MP Drivers Windows 7 (64-bit),
Windows Vista (64-bit),
Windows XP (64-bit), 1.01 22 MB

Any help appreciated.

No printer driver listed for Windows 10.
You can try this:
1. Navigate
Control panel -> Devices & Printers -> Right Click MP160 Icon -> Select Remove Device
Do that for any other Canon Icons

2. Follow This:
Install Printer - EZ Way - Windows 7-10

Want To Install Your Printer The Easy Way?
No CD - No Driver Download
Windows Will Do It For You

Be Sure Windows Update Is Enabled
Connect Your Printer Via USB Cable To PC
Power-On Printer -> Connect PC To Internet
Navigate As Follows: Control Panel -> Devices & Printers
Click “Add Printer” At Top Of Page
Follow Instructions -> Locate Your Printer On List

All else fails try this:
"Restore Win 10 To Earlier Time" (earlier than "Driver Updater Software" install)
