Hi all,

Was wondering if you could help me. The above mentioned printer has stopped working after just over a year! The problem is it will not read any new ink cartridges as having ink in them. The story is as follows...

The printer ran out of the first cartridge I put in it. So I ordered another from the same company. To replace the cartridge there are no special instructions, just take old one out and out new one in. So I did, then I got the error message "ink cartridge empty, please replace" so I though a reset would work... Tried to print after the reset and it printed one photo, now whatever I do it is giving me the "ink cartridge empty, please replace" message. There is no error code present just the message. Then I thought okay it's the cartridge, ordered another and sent my one back, this time I got no photos out of it just straight to the error.

I have contacted canon and they have referred me to one of ther specialists to repair it. They want £75 for repair!! Seeing as I paid £80 for it new! I am not paying that, hense why I am on here looking for tips to fix it myself.
I am technically minded so taking this apart won't be a problem I just need to know what to look for.

If there is anything I have missed out, let me know and I will let you know!

Thanks all!

Alex
