Compatible ink for Canon MG2500 series question

I have a Canon printer (MG2500 series) . Does anyone know if a HP cartridge 61 will fit this. I hate to open it and find out it will not. (In pictures they look alike) I was given 8 HP ink 61 cartridges brand new. I know nothing about compatibility in them. Thanks for any input on this.

yes it is the PG-545XL black and the colour is cl-546xl
The hp 61 is a different brand to canon.

yes not even the correct brand. HP ink will only work with specific HP printers. If your buying Canon PG-545XL / CL-546XL get the xlarge as they are much better value with the amount they print
