Detected printer then not detected

Help please!! I've tried 100 times today to download the correct program so I can print from my Laptop (Wind 10, 64) to my Canon Pixma MG2560.
It goes through the down load process fine and then asks me to connect pri ter via usb cord which it then detects and asks me to wait while it finalises set up, then ot says it can't detect Printer.
Why would it detect it (cords are fine) then not detect it???

hi, you can try to replace the connector port i.e. can insert USB in other port of System or also can try to change your system just to check weather this problem is related to your hardware(printer) or with your software.
