Epson et 8550 transportation lock fault

My Epson et 8550 has come up with a transportation lock fault. On start up the printer goes straight into transportation lock message . But the transportation lock is not on. The printer hangs up with this transportation lock message and will not start up at all. Has anybody got any suggestions of how to rectify this fault
