I have an old HP laserjet 6L. Rock solid printer. It was working fine in my old system but now I have upgraded both my desktop and my laptop.
I have a lenovo with windows 7 and an assembled desktop with win 7 too.
The orginal wire ( the LPT1 port connector) installs the printer on the desktop but the print is real weak, blurry and full of wrong fonts.
For my Laptop I use a convertor cable that connects to the USB port. I have all the driver and it is recognised by windows but when i give the print command, it doesnt print and stays in the queue and then gives an error. Troubleshooting hasnt helped!!
When i print a self test using the buttons on the front of the printer, it prints test page properly and the font isnt distorted at all
