HP printer doesn’t like non how printhead

I bought a new printhead for my HP inkjet 6800. I was pleased when it fitted back in perfectly and tested some prints - no problem. It printed perfectly. Then the software seemed to realise it was not a genuine HP part and suddenly told me it could not print. Can I disable a sensor or any other suggestions?
