hp shows error - printing

hi, please can someone help, I have a HP L7480 all in one printer. I have lost coomunication and after deleting the printer and reinstalling the software I now cannot see the printer at all. When i got to the point in installation where it asks you to power on and attach the cable couldn't get further as this was greyed out. Eventually had to system restore and now all i get is error - printing from the display in control panel. I have reinstalled drivers etc but cant even do a test print from computer - works fine doing a test print from the printer so thats working ok
