I found a way to fix my HP Deskjet 3050 printer that wouldn't copy. It would print, or scan, from the laptop, but not copy a page.
I checked for a software problem (update driver, do the resets), to no avail. I checked for a hardware problem, and found that two buttons were not working because of a false electrical contact. It was easy to fix.
I made a video to share that solution, because I could not see it on any forum. Here it is:
