Assistance needed and would be greatly appreciated. I am a relative noobie to Linux and am running LMDE (mate) without much trouble and it works!! But I am have the devil of a time installing my Brother MFC-495cw printer. Could someone please walk me through the steps necessary. I am a 73 year old guy and am only Linux computer semi-literate even though I have a post Graduate Doctorate. So, for my sake, please tell me how to do this using the KISS principle (Keep It Simple for Stupid).
Do I download the deb files, cups wrapper, RPM, etc.
Printer on or off, connected to USB or not, etc.
So I'll need a really simple step by step set of instructions.
The Brother site with the Linux drivers assumes that I have an advanced knowledge of Linux.which I do not have.
    Thanks,
    tlcmd (aka Dick)
