Any ideas on how to get this thing to work properly? I am able to set it up on my computer as a test, and print a document or two through USB, but the control panel flat-out refuses to work at all - pressing any of the buttons simply does nothing. And I'm not sure about sending it to a repair centre either as this is a Japanese import than a locally-available model (ironically, this thing is assembled in the Philippines where I live).

Try unplugging printer from power outlet. Wait three minutes and re-connect.

Try pressing "Home" button on printer control panel. Does this enable other buttons?

If possible, select "Return to Factory Defaults"

Let us know

Problem is I couldn't access the menu due to the buttons being nonfunctional. And it runs on batteries too, if that helps.

OK Huck. Lets start with battery condition:
Does battery indicator read full charge?
Do you charge with USB cable ?
Do you charge using AC adapter?
Is battery plugged-in internally?
Hold down power button for 10 seconds - not just a single tap. Any Change?
Battery indicator (4) should show three Orange squares if full charge
