Most compatible toners do not have the proper density and could mecanichaly stress the toner adding mechanism within the transfer belt and damage it. Also consider that could not empty the developers from bad toner because there are a fuse in it that blows away. This fuse is mounted iinside developer in a position that you cannot access to fill with toner. Thats why new developers are filled with toner from factory.
