I just wondered if any has managed to get around the issue with activation of these relatively new Brothers.
Basically, if you don't have the original "starter" ink cartridge set, the printer cannot be "activated" even if it has original ink cartridges within the bays.
Mine originally came without ink but it was sold with L321s (marked as "Starter Ink) but I've got XLs catridges installed instead and it fails to recognize.

I'm pretty sure it is matter of programming on the chips however could not find a specific supplier, due to some mysterious reasons Brother don't sell the starters on their own.
