MP250 drivers/software freezes computer

I just got a new printer and am having trouble with it.
When I install the driver and printing software all goes well until I restart and then my computer slows way down or freezing at times.

I am using Windows 7-32 and my old Canon printer ip1500 worked fine, until the print head died.

I hope someone has a suggestion or this printer goes back to Wallyworld.
