Hi
I have Hp model c309a, Product Number: CC335A
this is a 5 ink tanks, black, cyan, red, yellow and a photo black.( smaller)
have been informed by HP that the photo black is only used for
photos.
As i only print documents, when the ink tanks are empty the photo black is still full,
I thought that, if i can trick the printer into using the photo black first or after the regular black ink by ,
changing the the printer properties and change the settings to photo printing.
as have already tried. and has printed ok, but, how do i know if it using the photo black ink?
I rang HP and they said that the only way you can change the setting to use the photo black. if you have a picture file and have inserted photo paper.
As i am a bit dubious about this information, wondering if anyone else come across this.
just want to use up the photo black before or after the regular black.

Suspect photo black may be dye ink, whereas regular black ink is of pigment variety.
Doubt you would be happy with documents printed with photo black. HP engineers
are pretty savvy and produced pretty nice printer.
