Poor Communications ? huh? How is this possible?

My friend bought a WF7840 printer and Xfinity required her to change her cable modem to a Motorola MT7711 type. She has the cable modem router seated right on top of the printer on the left hand side (as you face the control panel on the printer). Yet when she attempts to login to wifi of the cable modem, the printer Check Report says that its connection is poor and for the user to check it. How can this be? The cable modem is right on top of the printer, how can a poor signal result from this????

Should the cable modem be taken OFF the printer and set closeby?

Overly powerful signals can cause distortion, can over-drive the receiver's pre-amp, and overwhelm frequency discrimination.

I'd suggest if the printer and router are co-located that you connect the printer by ethernet cable to the router. Where possible, I always recommend a direct ethernet connection for printers. Far more reliable.
