just repaired paper jam on HP LazerJet 1100. I replaced toner with new HP toner cartridge about a year ago. I printed less that 200 pages since then. Yesterday the print was fuzzy. Today it is OK, but not as dark as printing same document from a HP InkJet printer. Should I expect it to be as dark?

I bought this printer 10 to 13 years ago used. Had about 28000 jobs on it. the others had 70,000 print jobs on them so chose the one w/the least. I was considering buying a refurbished 1100 for $95 or a new HP LazerJet for $159 (on sale for $125) Any idea which would last the longest and be the easiest to service?
