In the Fiery job properties, Color, turn off "Print RGB gray using black only" and do the same to CMYK. Also if you have a setting for "Rich Black On" try that too. I don't have that printer anymore, so the setting might be named different. What is happening is the Fiery sees that some of the black in the dark areas matchs the formula for a perfect gray and decides it would better to print pure black instead of a process black (CYMK).
