Setting up wifi printer after change to SkyQ

I have recently changed to Sky Q and since then I cannot get my printer to work. My computer no longer recognises the printer therefore I am unable to set it up. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but when I get to the point of having to enter the new Sky password the printer will only allow me to enter 8 characters when the actual password has 11. I have seen something on the internet which suggests I should be able to set it up via a pin code (vps) but this was too technical for me and I was afraid I would do more harm than good. Epson are not interested because printer is out of warranty.
