Text is perfect, images are horrible

My printer prints all text perfectly. Colored text, any size, any program. No problems. But when I try to print an image of any size, shape, or color, it looks horrible. Artifacts along the edges, or smudges within gradients. I can't explain it because text is sharp and clear. I have images to show but I guess I cant add them here. Ive tried printing from photoshop, word, even adobe reader.... images look like trash. But text of any size looks crisp and clear. Ive tried multiple images also so its not a resolution problem.

Are the images and text into the same document? Or maybe Are you using different programs to print text and images (I.e. word and gimp). If yes, can you please try to print images from a different program, likes mspaint ?
