text too light

Hey there! I have an HP Color Laser Jet 2605dn. I replaced the black cartridge and the pictures I was printing were really washed out, but the text was crisp and clear. After trying various software settings, I replaced the black with a cartridge that I had refilled and the pictures started printing nicely, but the text is looking washed out. Any ideas?
