Toner cartridge HP 80X

I just purchased an HP 80X high yield cartridge. It is supposed to print approximately 6900 pages. However, when I installed it in my HP LaserJet Pro 400 401dn printer the supplies status report shows the approximate pages remaining as 5450. This is considerably different than the expected yield. Should I return the cartridge for another one?
