Hi all, My printer is driving me mad as I can't seem to set up what I think is a pretty basic arrangement. It's a B2338dw Mono Laser, it's got normal A4 paper in the main tray, and A4 labels in the multipurpose paper feeder. I want to set it up so the normal/default source is the tray, and then if I want to print labels then I would select the Manual feeder on my laptop before I press print. This to me seems a simple want, yet for the life of me I can't seem to get it to work. On the Tray Configuration Menu I have:- • Default Source = Tray 1 (Options:- Tray 1, MultiPurpose Feeder, Manual Paper, Manual Envelope) • I’ve then a tray source table with Tray 1 = A4 Plain Paper, Multipurpose Feeder = A4 Labels, Manual Paper = A4 Labels, Manual Envelope = DV Envelope. • Substitute Size = Off • Configure MP = Cassette (Options:- Cassette, Manual, First) I would also like the printer to just get on and do the printing from the desired paper source when the print job gets sent, ie no prompts to change paper etc. As Settings->Device->Config Menu->Tray configuration • Tray Linking = Off • Show Tray Insert Message = Only for unknown sizes • A5 Loading = Short Edge • Paper Prompts = Auto (Options Auto, Multipurpose Feeder, Manual Paper) • Envelope Prompts = Auto (Options Auto, Multipurpose Feeder, Manual Paper) • Action for Prompts = Continue (Options Prompt User, Continue, Use Current) • Multiple Universal Sizes = unticked. N.B. I have the latest firmware installed on the Printer and I’m using the latest Lexmark driver on my laptop. One further query while I’m on just in case this changes any suggestions. I also use a work laptop with the printer, this uses a generic IPP driver and ideally I want to do the same, but I did notice some more advanced settings with the ability to set tray identifier numbers that may be needed to allow generic drivers to access different trays as opposed to the tray/source names. Any pointers to where I'm going wrong appreciated!
