Unable to scan from Dell C1765NF printer

I have a Dell C1765NF printer and I am able to copy, print, scan and fax going through the software on the computer (Win 7), however; I am unable to use the scan button on the printer itself. Just tries to download the software but never completes. Again, if I go through the computer and activate the software and then through the software I am able to scan. I justg want to hit the scan button on the printer in able to scan. Even if I have the computer running, and load the software, I am still unable to just hit the scan button to scan. Still states that it is downloading the software.

Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
