Updated Pixma MG5350?

Hi.

I'm looking for a new printer and I really like the MG5350. Separate color cartridges, duplex printing, CD/DVD/BD printing, AirPrint ... and the price is all right.

I've noticed that it's been released over a year ago. Since it's pre-holiday new-tech-products season, I wouldn't like to rush the purchase when a newer version might be just around the corner.
Is there? How frequent do printer companies refresh their product lines anyway?

Based on some Google searches for reviews, it seems that the MG line has a yearly update cycle.
MG5250, MG5150 - August/September 2010
MG4150, MG6250, MG8250 - August/September 2011
MP230, MG2250, MG3250, MG4250 - August/September 2012

I've seen the new MP230, MG2250, MG3250 and MG4250 models, but they all come with a single color cartridge.
So do you this update is the only one we can expect this calendar year?

By the way, why does the MG5350 have two black cartridges?

Speak of the devil, Canon just announced new models.
Because of forum rules, I can't post the link, but you can see MGs 5450, 5450, 6350 and 6340 on Canon Europe.

What do you think?
