[QUOTE="dfwx, post: 207951, member: 9051"] We have used Brother printers for nearly 20 years. Probably bought 200+ printers and who know how many thousands of cartridges. But the quality has so deteriorated that we are discarding them all next week to shift to another brand. The printer we installed last night failed after 6 hours of usage, unable to read the cyan cartridges. We installed 5 different new ink cartridges, reloaded software, and it does the same. In the last year we have had a new printer that didn't work from brand new, printers that last less than a week and the rate of them jamming has dramatically increased. We also have noticed that ink cartridges are not even near empty when required to replace them - making the printers increasingly very expensive to use. With brothers constantly also changing models to make all our existing inventory of cartridges unusable deliberately - as boldly as to just to have moved the cartridge top tabs to the other side makes Brother printers just far too expensive and far too unreliable to use. We are just not willing to go thru this anymore as now it just seems like deliberately scamming customers. We really aren't willing to buy printers with an 18 hour life span. I do not expect this message to be left up, but the feedback to the company may be of some value for those in the company to explain designing printers to break down quickly, the scam of constantly changing printers to outdate all existing ink cartridge inventory etc may make for short term profits but will destroy the company in the long run.
