Printing Photographs

I have an Epsom Printer XP312 about a year old. I am trying to print 4 x 6 photos direct from my Computer, but when I load with 4 x6 photo paper I either receive a message paper not loaded or it feeds through blank. I can quite easily print A4 photos on plain paper. Any help would be much appreciated/
